Dark Vengeance Released

Coming in on the heels of the summer release of Warhammer 40,000’s 6th Edition core rule book (the review of the rule book is in production still gotta play a few more games)  is the Dark Vengeance starter kit. Now this is a standard practice: for Games Workshop to set their hooks in you with shiny new, easy to assemble models, and the next thing you know you’re broke, homeless, and reporting to a pimp at Lexington Pointe to pay for your new addiction. But I digress.

So who's your Daddy?

So Who’s your Daddy?

With this $100 purchase you get two armies( one Chaos space Marines and one Dark Angels), a condensed rulebook, dice, templates,  and measuring sticks. In short, everything you need to play.

For those of you who have no idea of the “fluff” of Warhammer 40k, The Chaos Space Marines and the Dark Angels are the yin and yang, the black and white, the North and South, the Ole Miss and MSU, the…the…penicillin and STD of the universe. In other words, they are polar opposites and hate each other.  Chaos, glorious chaos, is finally getting some Games Workshop love by getting some special models for Dark Vengeance.  These models are so special in fact, that they don’t even have rules yet. They are like the loose cannon rookies that have partners that are 10,000 years too old for this shit.

Still not as old as Danny Glover

But, Dark Angels aren’t getting left out of the Marvin Gaye session.  Their models are getting prettied up for their big shot at finally finding their long lost loverrrrr…..brethren, more on this next week.

So, if you are thinking of getting in on Warhammer, or if you already play it and want some new models, go pick up a box of Dark Vengeance, kidnap a friend, and start killing your little men.

This is my first of many Warhammer articles. Stay tuned as next week I start a series of exploring Space Marine Legion every week for 18 weeks.
